  1. Rudolph appears and sees the ancient wizard and the arrogant warrior standing side by side. His poorly animated eyelids narrow and Rudolph seizes the opportunity. So many gates opened, why not one more?

    TECH:
Move: Move to J7, jumping over acid.
Standard: Swing OPEN THE GATES OF BATTLE on Beric. +5 vs. Reflex, 3d10+5 damage and on hit trigger Eternal Tide Flurry against Pyat for 5 damage and slowed and pull him to J6.
Minor: Thri-Kreen Claws, (against either Beric alone if the first attack missed, or both if first attack hit) +8 vs. AC, 1d8+6(if one target, 7 if two) damage. (if first attack missed, now trigger Flurry on Pyatt.

  2. NIGHT-DM IS SLEEPY, SO WILL NOT AVAIL YOU WITH MYSTICAL EPIGRAMS.

    [Tech]
Open the Gates of Battle (is that a new record for number of times a power is used in a match?) - (15)+5 vs Reflex 15 - HIT!!
for (1)+(6)+(10)+5 = 22 damage, dropping Beric at EXACTLY 0 HIT POINTS!

But that's not all - Eternal Tide drops Pyat to -2 HP and -
    KILLING SPREE!!

Blood covers Rudolph's snout and antlers as he tears at his hapless opponents.
    Thri-Kreen Claws - (4)+8+2 vs Beric's AC 17-5 - HIT!!
    - (13)+8+2 vs Pyat's AC 15-5 - HIT!!
    for (5)+7 = 12 damage...

    DOUBLE. GIB.

Unless I'm mistaken (which I could well be, it's been a long day), that's a tie score, folks. Take it away, o Green One.

  3. OOC: Thanks, James! You weren't the only one sleepy, I forgot to switch the teleports! Luckily, it makes no difference on Rudolph's turn so I'll just be switching that in there now ...

    1. The Whirlwind should be centered in C5.

    2. OOC: Wouldn't Jaqen's Cloud of Darkness have expired at the end of his last turn?

  4. OOC: I'm grabbed, right? In that case I'd like to do my minor/move, & wait to see the results before I post my standard action with a rhyme.

Minor: Razor Storm +5 vs Reflex, 1d6+3
    Move: Escape Attempt, athletics +5

    2. OOC: Unfortunately Deuce didn't go into all the details in his last post; The Grinch is grabbed until end of Jaqen's next turn and has a -2 penalty to attack rolls while grabbed.

      Delete
    3. So, here's the Razor Storm at least: (1)+5 -2 {grabbed} vs. Reflex 15;
      ZOMG!!!!!

Teleported to PLatform #8 and grab broken!

Deuce ... I'm so sorry man. I know how much you've been waiting for that hug .... I feel bad for you now :(

    4. I'm confused. How did the teleport happen?

    5. HUMILIATION

But like, the opposite, in this case.

    7. That has got to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen in FTDM. I can't stop bustin' up over it!

      Delete
    8. ha! I think this is the best way Jon could have broken the grab before I broke his neck! EPIC.

And there is a second post at the end of last round where the grab is mentioned.

      Delete
    9. Ah yes, the grabbing was mentioned but not just how really nasty a condition it was (inescapable for 1 round, -2 attacks). I was just clarifying for him.

      JON HURRY UP!

  5. As his attack goes wide the Grinch waves his hand
"Why my dear Jaqen, that was just what I planned"
Stepping cross the acid, the Grinch aims cross the map
And shoots at the head of that grab-happy chap.

    Tech
Move: To E11, jumping across the acid
Standard: Grappling Spirits on Jaqen, +8 vs AC, 1d8+5 damage, slowed & can't shift.

      [TECH]
OOC: No probs, that happens to me surprisingly often as well.
      Autosucceed on jump
GS: (2)+8 vs. AC 15; miss!
Roll a 2, drink the hooch!

The Mountain is up next. Perhaps he'll roll a 3 and then a 4?

      Delete
    3. If that holds true all of my attacks are gonna be roll-less.

      Delete
  6. Virtuous strike vs. Yukon. +7 vs. AC +7vs.ac 2d6 + 7.

    Heroic effort of needed

    ReplyDelete
  7. (6)+7 vs. AC 19; even with Heroic Effort, gonna be a miss!
Yukon is saved by the Grinch's holy nimbus!

  8. Move to K2
Thundering Armor on Yukon. +1 to AC. Second target the Mountain, +5 vs Fortitude. 1d8+5 damage and push to D7.
Minor. Magic Missile the Mountain. 7 Damage.

  9. THE SICKENING WET GRIND OF BONE, BLOOD, AND GORE ECHOES ACROSS THE ENDLESS EXPANSE OF THIS TWISTED ARCANE HELLHOLE.

    [TECH] Thundering Armor: (1)+5 vs. Fortitude 15;

    !!! HUMILIATION !!!
    (8); Respawn (8 again)

    !!! TELEFRAG !!!
!!! YOU HAVE LOST THE LEAD !!!

  10. Sorry for the formatting, posting from mobile.

Open the Gates of Battle (Move) through the teleporter on 7, to J6 (no OA)
Open the Gates of Battle on Rudolph, plus Flurry and Assault. +6vsRef, 4d10+11.
Minor to Sustain Flame Weapon, +6vsRef, 1d10.

    ReplyDelete
  11. No worries about the formatting - sorry about the delay! I think both Kurt and I were completely distracted/swamped last night.

THE LORD OF BLACKHAVEN FAILS TO EXACT FULL REVENGE ON THE EFFIGY OF BARATHEON!!

    [Tech]
    OtGoB: (5)+6 vs Reflex 18 - MISS!
Weapon of Astral Flame: (12)+6 vs Reflex 18 - HIT!! (by the skin of your teeth)
for (2) damage - oh, so frail that ghostly weapon is.

Pyat Pree materializes at (6) - C-11. Map update soon, but Beric is in J-6, Pyat is in C-11, and Rudolph is at 20 HP.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Pyat Pree sees his first match of this fight to fell two of his enemies without outright killing them.

    Tech:

Minor: Sustain Whirlwind, slide Yukon through archway to F10

    Move: to C9

Standard: Beguiling Strands--Close Blast 5, affects enemies
    Target Yukon and Grinch
    +5 vs Will
Hit: 5 psychic damage and push 5
Push Grinch to F11, no teleport
Push Yukon to K11 for the telefrag

    ReplyDelete
  13. THE WARLOCK OF QARTH PICKS UP THE REVENGE THAT BERIC SO GORMLESSLY DROPPED.

    [Tech]
Arcane Whirlwind: Yukon has no FM resistance - he is in F10
Beguiling Strands: (11)+5-2 (cover) vs Yukon's Will 11 - HIT!!
    (16)+5-2 (cover) vs Grinch's Will 16 - HIT!!

Boy, it's a good thing you listed Yukon first, huh? Neither has Resist Psychic, so Grinch is at 0 HP - DROPPED!! - and Yukon's at -3 HP - KILLING SPREE!!

But that's not enough for Pyat Pree. Oh no! The telefrag (guaranteed after the acid save of (2)) removes any chance to heal the green Santa impersonator! And Yukon self-gibs to respawn at (5) - I-6.

    THE POINT SPREAD INCREASES!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. "Ahhhh, Lightning Lord, we meet again!"

    [TECH]
MINOR: Battle Wrath Stance (+2 to damage rolls)
    MOVE: Shift to J5
    STANDARD: MBA vs Beric (+9 +2(CA) = +11 vs AC) (1d10+10 damage)
NO Action: Furious Assault (+1d10 damage)
FREE Action: Power Strike (+1d10 damage)

    [OOC]
Something I've debated about at my own table, but I figure I'll ask you gents here. Battle Wrath Stance gives me a +2 to melee damage rolls and both Furious Assault and Power Strike involve melee damage rolls. Does this play here? If so, awesome. If not, that's what I personally figured.

    ReplyDelete
  15. THE WILY NORTHMAN KNOWS EXACTLY HOW MUCH FORCE KILLS A MAN.

    [Tech]
    MBA: (15)+11 vs AC 17 - HIT!!
    for (3)+(1)+(8)+10 = 22 damage!
I'm not making this up - Kurt's dice roll low; mine evidently drop people to exactly 0 HP. Beric falls! He'll have to talk to Thoros again.

OOC: You're half right. Both nova powers you mention say to add 1[W] extra damage. This is key - it's all still one single damage roll, with an increasing number of dice, and a single Power bonus from Battle Wrath. On the bright side, this also means all three dice are subject to crit maximizing.

Also, I'm posting from my iPod, so no map this time. Jaqen, what do you do with your empty garrote?

    ReplyDelete
  16. "Sometimes, the simplest attacks are the most effective"....Jaqen has overheard from the Braavosi. Let see if that is true. He charges the false mountain to see if there is anyone thing real inside besides bumbleshit.

    Tech:
Move from F2 to J2 (Jumping as I go)
Charge to J5 to and MBA Yukon: +9 vs AC, 1d8+5 damage + 1d8 from attack finesse. If I hit, add 5 damage from Stone Fist Flurry of Blows.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oh, sorry sorry, map not updated yet. But! Jaqen can do almost exactly that, if he'd like to finish his turn in the acid!

    2. DON'T CORRECT HIM JAMES!

      *starts chanting "Death Wyverns"*

    3. Quiet you, Jon Green!

      Corrected Tech:
Move and Jump to portal at I3, putting meat I6 if I am reading the portal arrows correctly. Attack with Quick lunge, which allows me to shift 1 before the attack. Shift to I7 then attack Rudolph instead. Jaqen has a family to feed.

+8 vs AC, 1d8+1d8 from attack finesse+5 from flurry if I hit. I expect this sterotypical Angilee die rolls...cough cough...drop him to zero....or else...

  18. SLAY BELLS STAND UNTOUCHABLE.

Athletics: (1)+7, FAIL! Jaqen takes 5 acid damage and has juuust enough speed to complete the move.
Now that we got the 1 outta the way...
Quick Lunge: (3)+8 vs. AC 19; miss!
    Not much better

  19. THUS ENDS ANOTHER EXCITING ROUND OF FOURTHCORE TEAMDEATHMATCH!!!

The Doomsday Clock ticks down to the end, a mere 4-1/4 days left. Slay Bells is trailing, but their untouchable defenses have given them the momentum they need to win. It's now a race against the clock to see if they can close the gap!

The bloodshed continues in Round 8. I suggest that you all ... GET TO THE CHOPPPA!!!
