E5M4: CARBON FREEZE

Deep in the bowels of Cloud City is a chamber, the only purpose of which is to freeze the inhabitants for hibernation. It is in this Carbon Freeze chamber that you must battle to the death.

Be among the first in the world to experience this map, live at the GenCon 2013 FTDM Open Play!!

SHOW YOUR MIGHT IN THE ARENA WHERE FATHER MET SON IN DRAMATIC COMBAT!! FACE YOUR FOES AT GENCON!!

Humiliation

A creature rolling a natural 1 on an attack roll is knocked prone immediately after the attack. Being knocked prone in this way cannot be negated in any way.

Corners

Everything's round and there are no railings in Star Wars. All corners are soft corners.

Tibanna Gas

The entire chamber has a dangerous amount of Tibanna Gas flowing through it. Creatures gain 1 Tibanna Gas Token at the end of their turn. Creatures gain a bonus to attack and damage rolls – and a penalty to all defenses – equal to the number to Tibanna Gas Tokens they have.

Poisonous Pits

The pits contain an even more concentrated dosage of Tibanna Gas. Creatures in the pits are granted full concealment, but take 5 Poison and Cold damage at the start of their turn, and for each square of pit entered. The pits are 10' deep, and require two extra squares of movement to climb out (no Athletics check necessary).

Respawn (terrain power)

At-Will Trigger: You start your turn dead, dying, petrified, or begin your first turn of the match. Effect (no action): If you are dying, you die. You regain all hit points and healing surges, remove all failed death saves, Tibanna Gas Tokens, and conditions that don't last through the encounter, refresh all encounter powers and power points, and teleport to a starting square of your choice. If the destination starting square is occupied, that creature dies. Special (petrified): If you are petrified, and also dying, your death counts twice against your team. If you are petrified, and not dying, you may choose to negate your death. If you do so, after respawning you are blinded and weakened until the start of your next turn.

Killing Spree (terrain power)

At-Will (once per turn) Trigger: You reduce 2 or more non-minion enemies with at least 1 hit point to 0 hitpoints or fewer during the same turn. Effect (Free Action): Gain an action point. You may spend more than one action point per encounter, but only one action point per round.

All Too Easy (terrain power)

At-Will Requirement: You must be adjacent to the Control Panel, or use a power that allows ranged manipulation. Target: One creature in the Poisonous Pits. Effect (Minor Action): The creature becomes petrified. (see Respawn power)

    1. That idea certainly came up, but I felt that the maps for the tournament had been long established and changing them this late in the game would be a bit unfair to anyone whom might have designed their character around them. Though, this map will certainly be a part of the FTDM Open Play on Thursday night, so it will get its moment in the sun. If you're really itching for it, I can hold off on running the map until you guys show up on Thursday.

That is, assuming you're not going to be there at the start at 6pm!

    1. Thanks. I think PbP, w/Roll20 support. I'm actually considering doing a longer-than-12-hr window, for folks who do the sleep/work/no-break thing.

    2. I'd be down for longer than 12 hours. I couldn't until after GenCon, though.
